Objectives
  1. To develop groundwater flow models in 1D and 2D for confined and unconfined aquifer problems.
  2. To develop contaminant groundwater flow models including reactive transport in 1D and 2D for confined and unconfined aquifer problems.
  3. The transport model will include the radio-active decay and its transport process with radio-active nuclides related reactions/ decay.
  4. To develop coupled simulation model for flow and transport modeling using Meshfree methods in 1D and 2D for confinedand unconfined aquifers.
  5. To identify important field parameters for flow and transport through inverse modeling.
  6. Verification of models with available analytical/ other numerical results (FEM) available in literature. For validation/ benchmarking of the models, the problems will include all possible combinations of boundary conditions (Neumann, Dirichlet, Cauchy’s), source etc.
  7. To apply the developed models for hypothetical/ real field problems (if data is available) for groundwater contaminant transport.
